Artist and designer Jonah Takagi says he founded his Washington, D.C.-based multidisciplinary atelier as an outlet for his overactive imagination——happily, the products of this prodigious imagination, largely furniture and lighting, have been extremely well-received to date. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Takagi toured with several indie bands playing bass guitar before turning his attention to design full-time. Born in Japan and raised in New England, Takagi’s work draws from a wide range of influences. His designs have been displayed around the world: last year he showed at IMM Cologne, and just last month, Takagi made his debut in Milan at the Salone Satellite at the Milan Furniture Fair. This new piece for Council marks his second year exhibiting at ICFF. |
